Tips for wheelchair users

Visiting the Cannstatter Volksfest is also problem-free for wheelchair users. Towards the Mercedesstraße are disabled parking bays from where the festival site can be easily accessed. The car park is signposted and stewards will direct you to an available space. Parking is free for holders of a disabled person’s ID card.

The Wasen is also easy to reach on public transport for wheelchair users by taking the U 11 Volksfest line. Taxi ranks are near to the festival site.

Almost all festival streets are tarmaced as are all the paths in the Traders’ Market. The entrances to the festival tents all have ramps suitable for wheelchair users. Inside the tents and all around the festival site are free-of-charge staffed toilets for disabled persons. The festival tent landlords and snack bar owners are very happy to help in any way like moving ale-benches so that wheelchair users have easy access to the tables.

Besides the presence of the German Red Cross, all landlords and their teams, showmen, stewards and security personnel are glad to help at all times. Whether it is the Ferris Wheel, the log flume ride, the Wild Mouse roller coaster or the other rides, all the operators will make it possible for disabled persons to go on a ride of their choice so that they can spend an unforgettable day on the Wasen.
