Once founded in 1818, the Cannstatter Volksfest is now one of the largest and most beautiful folk festivals in the world. Thanks to its attractions, it attracts around four million visitors to Stuttgart, the state capital of Baden-Württemberg, every year. The Cannstatter Wasen, the about 25-hectare fairground along the Neckar, becomes an intercultural meeting place. People from different nations and generations laugh, sing and celebrate together here for 17 days in an exuberant atmosphere until late in the evening.
