No, admission to the Cannstatter Volksfest is free. Of course, you have to pay to enjoy the rides, fairground attractions and festival tents. Wednesdays are always Family Day, with special offers and reduced prices.
Yes, the site security service and the police will be present at the entrances and will also carry out access controls. They are also available to all visitors as a direct point of contact.
It is recommended that you avoid backpacks and large bags. It's best to leave everything at home that you don't need for the party. This is because the quickest way to get to the Wasen is without a rucksack or bags. Otherwise they will be checked at the entrances by the security service and the police.
Yes, there is a left-luggage office. This is located in a container next to the Wasenwache - between the marquee “Zum Wasenwirt” and the administration building of the in.Stuttgart Veranstaltungsgesellschaft. There is a charge of between 2 and 6 euros per helmet or piece of luggage deposited.
Opening hours during the festival:
Friday, 27.09.24 from 2 p.m.
Monday - Friday: from 12 noon
Saturday, Sunday and public holidays: from 11 a.m.
The following items are not permitted: irritant gas sprayers, cutting, striking, thrusting, stabbing and firearms, electric shock devices, corrosive and coloring liquids, pyrotechnics, gas-filled balloons and similar items with a metal-coated surface. Bottles of any material, cups, jugs or cans are also not permitted.
(Smaller) cameras are not a problem. However, as more and more (amateur) photographers would like to bring larger equipment, including tripods, to the festival grounds, we would ask you to request accreditation from the press team in advance.
Without accreditation, the stewards at the entrances may otherwise refuse access to the grounds. The security staff will decide on a case-by-case basis whether an application is required.
Please understand that animals are not permitted on the festival grounds. An exception is the carrying of guide dogs, this is possible without restriction.

Plan your journey and use public transport: the special streetcar line U11 will take you directly to the festival.
Due to the high number of visitors and the general traffic situation in the Stuttgart city area, we generally recommend using public transportation.
There is a spacious parking lot for people with disabilities, from which you can access the festival grounds at ground level. There are also parking spaces for buses.
Parking in the designated residents' parking areas around the Cannstatter Wasen is not permitted. Avoid searching for parking spaces unnecessarily and observe the residential area restrictions. Regular checks are carried out.
Of course! But please observe the site regulations. It is not permitted to bring glass bottles (including so-called “Klopferle”,...) onto the festival grounds. In addition, no goods may be sold while walking around.
